Meet Your Board Certified Patient Advocate
I often get calls from potential clients when they or their loved ones have run into problems they can't tackle, when what happens at the next doctor appointment or discharge from hospital will determine if they have a future they can look forward to or not.
Unfortunately, neither the healthcare system nor insurance industry provide easy solutions. The regulations cause doctors to #1 take less time with their patients, and #2 refer patients out to specialists, who may or may not care about establishing a caring relationship with them. Communicating well with primary care physicians, specialists and their staffs can be a challenge. As an RN for over thirty years, I have studied the art of communication through both Ministry and Nursing and I understand how the language of Medicine can be confusing. After having served more than sixty unique clients since 2014, I have learned how valuable it is to have a third person in the exam room or at the hospital bedside making sure good communication is happening throughout the healthcare system. It’s not unusual for my clients to tell me they have never had such a good experience meeting with their doctor! I think it’s because a knowledgeable witness in the room encourages doctor and patient to treat each other with the human dignity we all want and deserve. My name is Sharon Sparks, and as an Independent Patient Advocate there is nothing I want more for my clients than good provider-patient communication. That is the key that leads to accurate diagnoses, patient-centered treatments, optimal health and vibrant life. If you are looking for better outcomes for yourself or your loved one I encourage you to find an Independent Patient Advocate who specializes in what you are looking for on the NAHAC or APHA websites, or give me a call. I will always be on your side, making life better for you. For Vibrant Health, Sharon Sparks, RN Board Certified Independent Patient Advocate ElderBridge SoCal, LLC (909) 830-9596 |
